I wrote you a letter
that on any other morning you
would read
When the Kettle goes off in a
screeching hot moment
I am expecting to unravel
tile feels cold like shards
under my toes
I bring you joy in a cup
and the creases on your face seem
deeper than they did yesterday
As the darkness of closed eyelids
shadows over you in
An abundant dance
light peeks in from the blinds and it stops
The deadliest thing all men should fear
Is the day breath becomes silent
Becomes silent
this woman still has words to say

This makes me feel incredibly special. The imagery it conveys is off the charts. 🙂 Such observation and insight. <3
